A Reminder
Today I am reminded that Jesus ALWAYS does what He says He's gonna do! Today is Good Friday. The kids and I read John 19 this morning. I loved reading the prophecies that were fulfilled in this chapter. Things that were predicted hundreds of years before actually came true on the day of Jesus' crucifixion. The WHOLE REASON that He came was accomplished on this very day. The whole reason that we have Christmas was so that He could do what He did on this Good Friday. The best Friday. I read somewhere recently how this day was the very worst and the very best day in human history. The very worst because the Son of God, who was fully God and 100% perfect had to die a brutal death and take the punishment of all of mankind for all of time upon Himself. The very worst day. BUT also the very best day. He did it! He took the punishment for my sin. He made a WAY for me to be able to enter His Kingdom when I die and to live a victorious life here on earth with the power of God living inside of me. Thank You, Jesus. I've been brought to tears several times this morning thinking about the great love of my Father. How precious is His name. His greatness. So perfect. So good. So right.
Today I am reminded that Jesus ALWAYS does what He says He's gonna do! The whole reason that He came (Christmas) was accomplished and completed in what He did for us in His death (Good Friday) and His resurrection (Easter). I CANNOT IMAGINE the anguish He faced in being fully God, but fully human...awaiting His brutal beatings and death on a cross. But He still did it. Of course He did it...because He does what He says He's going to do. The kids and I read John 19 this morning, and I loved reading the prophecies that were fulfilled on this day of His crucifixion. This is what was predicted....that's exactly what happened. Because Jesus does what He says He will do. He cannot fail. He cannot lie. I can 100% trust in this God and in His promises for me.
