Girlfriends Be Like....

I'm just gonna brag a minute....and say that I have the best friends that any girl could ask for in this lifetime.  Some areas of my life have been difficult, but the area of friendship has not been one of them.  I am so blessed!  I'm so thankful for the gift of these women in my life.

So, I went on a date last night.  Ya know, dating these days is pretty different.  A lot of meeting people is done online.  That's just the way it is.  We live in a virtual world.  So, I had a date with someone that I met online.  

I have one friend who is my stylist. I had in my mind what I thought I was going to wear on my date, but when I tried it on it simply did not look right.  

Oh no.....  

My stylist to the rescue!  She shows up to my house with a bag full of clothes, shoes, AND jewelry.  (She was one of my college roomies, and I often borrowed her clothes in college too!) By way of a mini fashion show, she helps me to decide what to wear.  She offers so much encouragement, and she truly makes me feel so confident with her sage stylist advice. :)

Then I get the sweetest message from another friend that says, "Enjoy your date!  I'm genuinely praying for YOU and for it to be encouraging to you!"  This friend listens to my endless pondering and thoughts on life, love, and all it's mysteries.  Lol.  She is a saint.  She knew I needed an encouraging night, and she prayed for me!

I have other friends who sent me video messages...wanting to see me dressed up.  They were just cheering me on and offering so much support.  (Here is a plug for Marco Polo...a video app that I use to keep in touch with friends...my favorite app for sure!)  

Then I have another friend who checks on me further into the evening....she sends me a meme that says, "Are you alive?"  And she writes, "He's not a serial killer?  Right?" LOL!  

Some of these same friends, checked on me late that night and the next day.....making sure I arrived home safely...wanting to hear ALL the details.  

I have other friends who may not have been involved in the very details of THIS particular day, but they also check on me, pray for me, listen to endless messages from me, offer such solid advice.  This dating journey is a JOURNEY....let me tell ya.  LOL.  Life is a journey.  But God has surrounded me with some of the most Godly, wise, caring, empathetic people that I know.  My cup is overflowing to the fullest. :)
